    Creamy Chocolate Smoothie | Vegan

A creamy dreamy chocolate smoothie that tastes like dessert and packs a nutritional punch! Plus, it could not be easier to make. What's not to love?

This Vegan Creamy Chocolate Smoothie is refined sugar-free and dairy-free. Thanks to energy-boosting, restorative ingredients like almonds, flax seeds, dates, not only is this delightfully thick and creamy, its also high in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and protein.  Like most of my smoothies,  banana is the base here too.  Sliced frozen banana gets a big thumbs up always.  While bananas and dates sweeten up the smoothies enough for me, I add a teaspoon of honey to each of my children's smoothies.

I like to soak the pitted dates for 5 minutes or so in warm water to soften them up.  I add the dates with their water in the smoothie.  Almonds get soaked a night before if I remember to do so!  Regular milk, soy milk, almond milk (very easy to make at home) can be easily substituted for light coconut milk that I have used here.  Use any kind of cocoa powder you have.
