The Best CHALLAH  BREAD

Tasha's Artisan Foods

It's super simple to make, with only basic  pantry ingredients

INGREDIENTS

– Eggs – Water, lukewarm – Dried active yeast – Honey – Salt – Oil (I used olive oil. Feel free to use any vegetable oil) – All-purpose flour Topping – Egg, beaten with 1 tsp water for eggwash – Black & white sesame seeds

~ Combine the dough ingredients in your stand  mixer or by hand. ~ Grease a mixing bowl, place the dough in it & cover with a damp kitchen towel.

1

Allow the dough to rise & double in volume

2

Punch the dough down to help it deflate, then divide it into 6 equal balls.

3

Taking one ball at a time, roll it into a 6- to 7-inch long rope while covering the rest.

4

Going back to the first rope, roll it again till it forms a  12-inch-long strand. Repeat with all!

5

Pick 3 dough strands & arrange them side by side at 90-degrees to you. Pinch their ends together.

6

Then start braiding like you’re making a plait.

7

~ Take the remaining three dough strands & repeat the process. ~ Let the loaves rise again till puffy!

8

~ Brush the top with  egg wash   ~ Dust with sesame seeds & bake for 24- 30 mins.

9

Dig in & enjoy!
