Brownies can be all this and more. I know because I've been baking them for an eternity. This time I wanted to make a batch with all the brownie hallmarks pushed to their natural limits. Made from fermented soya beans and other ingredients, it has a bold kick with the uncanny ability to expand flavors. So, when you tuck in, you get that nice caramel-like taste on your palate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"how-to-make-fudgy-miso-brownies\"   class=\"wp-block-heading\" >How to make fudgy miso brownies?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I may have said this for every brownie I bake, but miso brownies take the cake and bakery when it comes to fudginess. It is almost like you are eating chocolate fudge. And yes, they are delightfully chewy too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start with making a double boiler to melt chocolate and coconut oil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep stirring gently to combine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Right before everything is <em>just about<\/em> melted, incorporate a couple of tablespoons of miso.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take the mixture off the heat when you have a smooth, glossy mixture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mix in coffee powder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And then stir in your raw sugar immediately so that the heat dissolves the crystals.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tashasartisanfoods.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/unnamed-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Steps for Fudgy Miso Brownies | Vegan miso brownies recipe\" class=\"wp-image-15219\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-make-a-double-boiler\">How to make a double boiler?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fill a pot with an inch or so of water. Bring it to a simmer. Nestle a bowl, glass or metal, on top of the pan and add the ingredients to this bowl.&nbsp;This method of melting chocolate gives you more control over temperature, saving you from burning the chocolate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-baking-the-fudgy-miso-brownies\">Baking the fudgy miso brownies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After the sugar is mixed, let the mixture cool a tad.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then whisk in coconut yogurt (or Greek yogurt) and vanilla extract using a wooden spoon or spatula.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, mix in the dry ingredients you\u2019ve already sifted together - all-purpose flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour the thick batter in an 8-inch square pan lined with parchment (or greased well).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bake for 22 to 25 minutes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"pro-tips\"   class=\"wp-block-heading\" >Pro Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your <strong>yogurt, <\/strong>whichever one you use<strong>, has to be at room temperature<\/strong> when you combine it with the chocolate-miso mixture. Else, it will curdle.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t overmix the dry ingredients into the wet<\/strong>. A quick couple of rounds will do till there are no visible white streaks. Follow these three tips, and you\u2019ll have the same glimmer and sheen that\u2019s almost like a paper-thin crust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"variations-of-miso-brownie-recipe\"   class=\"wp-block-heading\" >Variations of miso brownie recipe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I choose to make vegan miso brownies, and because they are primarily eggless, I am not entirely sure about making them gluten-free.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have tried <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tashasartisanfoods.com\/blog\/easy-gluten-free-chocolate-brownies\/\">gluten-free chocolate brownies<\/a> before, but I always add eggs. Take your pick. They all work. You can even use <strong>plant-based butter<\/strong> to keep it vegan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-can-i-use-white-sugar-in-brownies\">Can I use white sugar in brownies?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yes<\/strong>, regular white sugar is absolutely fine for the miso brownie recipe. You can even test<strong> cane sugar<\/strong> instead of raw sugar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-which-flour-is-best-for-brownies\">Which flour is best for brownies?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All-purpose flour<\/strong> does the trick best. Add them in the batter or on top. <strong>Nuts<\/strong> are another delicious choice to bring in more texture. Since miso already has a salty undertone, I recommend forgoing any sea salt as an add-in.&nbsp;But, go ahead add some if you enjoy that extra savory kick!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-can-i-store-miso-brownies\">Can I store miso brownies?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Miso is a natural preservative. Any sweet laced with it lasts a long time. You have to manfully resist till they are completely cool. It ensures that you have nice, clean cuts. For serving, I kept the miso brownies plain except for a <strong>dusting of cocoa powder.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No one cared about adding ice cream, except the young lady of the house who simply couldn\u2019t imagine them without a scoop.
