So, my recipe for orange bread had <strong>dried cranberries<\/strong>. They work well if you use one of these two tricks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I <strong>soak<\/strong> them in <strong>hot water,<\/strong> which plumps up the cranberries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or you can soak in <strong>orange juice<\/strong> for additional flavor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re making the orange quick bread specifically for the holiday season, <strong>rum<\/strong> is another option, like I did with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tashasartisanfoods.com\/blog\/christmas-rum-cake\/\">my Christmas cake<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I am confident that <strong>fresh and frozen cranberries<\/strong> will work just the same. <strong>Toss<\/strong> <strong>them<\/strong> <strong>with<\/strong> a tablespoon of <strong>flour<\/strong> so they don\u2019t sink to the bottom as the bread bakes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t thaw<\/strong> the frozen cranberries; just toss them as-is into the batter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Greasing the tin well helps the bread to slide out easily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Never over-mix the batter. Pick whatever oranges are locally available and in season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re in a pinch, you can replace it with the <strong>bottled<\/strong> variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zest<\/strong>: Cranberries are most often matched with orange zest because the flavor combo is deliciously appealing on the palate. That makes zest very, <strong>very important<\/strong> in this bread recipe with cranberries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personally, I go heavy-handed with the orange zest. If you\u2019re thinking of reducing the amount, just keep in mind <strong>not to skip <\/strong>it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nuts<\/strong>: If you bake from inspiration rather than recipes, nuts pair beautifully with cranberry bread recipes. It\u2019s optional, but you could <strong>top the bread <\/strong>with almond <strong>flakes<\/strong> for extra, extra crunch and that pretty look. Another option is to chop <strong>almonds, walnuts, or pecans<\/strong> and add them to<strong> the batter <\/strong>with the berries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-vegan-recipe-for-orange-cranberry-bread\">VEGAN RECIPE FOR ORANGE CRANBERRY BREAD<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Use <strong>plant-based milk<\/strong> and swap eggs with <strong>flax eggs.<\/strong> One flax egg is made by combining 1 tablespoon of flax seeds with 3 tablespoons of water.
