Hull the strawberries and finely chop them.6-7 Strawberries
Combine the chopped strawberries and sugar in a small bowl and set aside for 5 minutes. Mash the strawberries with a fork as you're mixing them.6-7 Strawberries,2 tsp Sugar
In another small bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and hot water until frothy.1 tsp Matcha powder,1/4 cup Hot water
Spoon the macerated strawberries into a glass, and top with ice.
Pour over the almond milk and then the matcha mixture.3/4 cup Almond milk

Chop the strawberries into small pieces. It will be easier to mash them.
Allow the strawberries to macerate with sugar for 5 -10 minutes. They become softer, sweeter, and more flavorful.
The amount of sugar you add here depends on how sweet your berries are and your preference for sweetness.
You can use honey or maple syrup instead of sugar.
You can use a fork to mash the strawberries for a chunkier texture or blend them into a smooth puree if you prefer a smooth texture.
Please use quality matcha powder. I prefer using ceremonial-grade matcha.
Make sure you whisk the matcha liquid well. You can use a small whisk, a matcha whisk, or an electric whisk as I did.
