The first time I made a mango matcha latte, I couldnโ€™t get enough. Adding fruit to matcha? Absolute game-changer. So, of course, I had to try it with fresh, juicy strawberries. And let me tell youโ€”it did not disappoint. Sweet, creamy, and packed with that signature matcha kick, this is the kind of drink that makes an ordinary afternoon feel just a little extra.

Love matcha? You may also want to try my sweet and refreshing blueberry matcha latte!

Why Youโ€™ll Love This Recipe

Itโ€™s easy. Itโ€™s gorgeous.

Refreshing, energizing, and a little indulgent.

Perfect for a morning boost or an afternoon pick-me-up! Try it with my soft and fluffy baked matcha donuts or this creamy matcha Basque cheesecake, such a fabulous combo!

You only need a handful of ingredients. No fancy equipment, no complicated steps.

It's customizable to fit your vibe: dairy or non-dairy, extra sweet or just a hintโ€”you do you!

Strawberry Matcha Latte Ingredients

Ingredients for strawberry matcha latte.

Strawberries: Fresh strawberries are best. Not in season? Frozen works, too. Just thaw them first. If you have extra, try these fabulous strawberry turnovers.

Sweetener: A little bit of sugar enhances the strawberriesโ€™ flavor. Swap with honey, maple syrup, or your favorite sweetener if you prefer.

Milk: I love almond milk for its nutty flavor, but oat milk, cashew milk, or regular dairy milk all work.

Matcha: High-quality matcha gives the best flavor. Sift it first to avoid clumps in the iced strawberry matcha latte! If you love matcha, youโ€™ll also enjoy this matcha chia pudding.

Please see the recipe for full information on ingredients and quantities.

Pro Tips

  • Chop the strawberries into small pieces. It will be easier to mash them.
  • Allow the strawberries to macerate with sugar for 5 -10 minutes. They become softer, sweeter, and more flavorful.
  • The amount of sugar you add here depends on how sweet your berries are and your preference for sweetness.
  • You can use honey or maple syrup instead of sugar.
  • You can use a fork to mash the strawberries for a chunkier texture or blend them into a smooth puree if you prefer a smooth texture.
  • Please use quality matcha powder. I prefer using ceremonial-grade matcha.
  • Make sure you whisk the matcha liquid well. You can use a small whisk, a matcha whisk, or an electric whisk as I did.

Recipe FAQs

Do strawberries go well with matcha?

Strawberries and matcha are a perfect match. The natural sweetness and slight tartness of strawberries balance matchaโ€™s earthy notes. Together, they create a refreshing, well-rounded flavor. Itโ€™s vibrant and creamy.

How to serve a strawberry matcha latte recipe?

The ombrรฉ effect of matcha latte with strawberry is absolutely stunning, making it a treat on its own. For extra indulgence, top it with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of freeze-dried strawberries. Feeling fancy? A drizzle of honey or vanilla syrup takes it up a notch.

This latte is best enjoyed cold, served immediately, or on the same day. Sip through a straw so you get a bit of everything in each sip.

You can even pair it with a salted butter roll, a slice of walnut-fig banana bread, or a white chocolate cranberry cookie.
For breakfast, serve it with fluffy cinnamon pancakes or peanut chocolate protein balls for a nice healthy snack.

What does a matcha strawberry latte taste like?

Poured over a tall glass of ice, the strawberry matcha latte tastes delicious. Itโ€™s naturally sweet from the strawberries, with a hint of tartness. The matcha adds depth and a subtle grassy note. Combined, it is smooth, refreshing, and the best summer drink!
