Sweet and creamy cinnamon honey butter turns easy fall muffins, homemade dinner rolls, and everyday breads into a treat you can’t resist. It’s a 5-ingredient, 3-step recipe that comes together in 5 minutes and tastes even better than what you find at your favorite restaurant.
I think there is nothing I enjoy more than quick recipes. Especially if there is cinnamon involved. I adore cinnamon, if I haven’t mentioned it before. Not just with apple cinnamon cake; the fall spice goes pretty much with anything in my book- cinnamon coffee rolls, baked cinnamon donuts—you name it! Cinnamon always inspires me, and this honey butter proves it.

Why You’ll Love Cinnamon Honey Butter?
You can slather the whipped butter on apple cinnamon pancakes, Hawaiian banana bread, or warm milk bread rolls.
You shouldn’t, but you could; eat it by the spoonful; it’s that good!
The whipped butter is kid-approved and a hit with them.
It also stores and freezes really well.
Recipe Ingredients
Butter: Softened butter is easier to mix, ensuring all ingredients blend smoothly. Salted butter adds a subtle savory note, but you can use unsalted butter too. Even plant-based butter will work here.
Honey is a natural sweetener, and it beautifully complements the warmth of cinnamon. It also adds a smooth, velvety consistency. You can substitute any flavor-infused honey too. If you want to experiment, you can substitute honey with maple syrup for a slightly different flavor profile.
Cinnamon powder is a spicy kick that pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the honey. It makes this butter feel cozy and comforting, perfect for fall-inspired dishes.
Vanilla extract: Just a hint of homemade vanilla extract enhances the overall flavor of the butter, adding a layer of depth. You can also use vanilla bean paste for a more intense vanilla flavor.
Sea salt rounds off and balances the flavors of this flavored butter.

How To Make Cinnamon-Flavored Butter
This recipe is similar to the famous Texas Roadhouse cinnamon honey butter. The only difference is that I cut powdered sugar out completely and used more cinnamon because I wanted the honey and cinnamon flavor to shine.
Step 1: Combine all ingredients - butter, honey, sea salt, cinnamon powder, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
Step 2: Mix well with a whisk or electric mixer until the mixture is light and creamy.
Step 3: Transfer to a container or jar. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator. Bring to room temperature before serving!
Pro Tips
- Make sure the butter is softened at room temperature. We don't want to use melted or cold butter for this cinnamon butter recipe.
- This is best served at room temperature. Please don't microwave this, it will cause all the ingredients to separate!
How To Use?
A smear of honey butter on toast or homemade bagels instantly transforms them. Melt it over roasted vegetables or baked sweet potatoes for a subtly sweet flavor to savory dishes.
Overall, there are countless ways to serve and enjoy the honey butter recipe! I think these are some of the best:
- Breakfast favorites: Slather it on warm apple pancakes, vegan carrot cake waffles, or easy classic French toast to add a sweet, spiced touch to your morning meal.
- Baked goods: Spread it over old-fashioned homemade cornbread, mini no-knead focaccia, soft and fluffy milk dinner rolls, or easy vegan English muffins for an extra layer of flavor.
- Top off sweet treats: It’s fantastic on apple bread, pumpkin and banana bread, or even a savory cheese scone.
Recipe FAQs
The whipped butter stores really well. Keep it in the refrigerator, where it will stay fresh for up to 1 month.
If you want to keep it for an extended period, you can freeze the butter in an airtight container (or double-wrap in plastic) for up to 4 months.
When you’re ready to use it, thaw it gradually in the refrigerator or on the countertop—avoid microwaving it, as this can cause the ingredients to separate.
