Pro Tips
- To make sure the tortilla chips bake evenly, don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket.
- Allow them to cool completely before transferring to an air-tight container.
- If the chips lose their crispiness, reheat in the air-fryer for about a minute.
- It's easier and faster to cut the tortillas if you stack them up!
How To Store
After you air-fry tortilla chips, serve them immediately or keep them in an airtight container after they have cooled completely.
In case they lose their crispiness, just pop them back in the air-fryer for 1 minute and they'll be as good as new!
How To Serve
This is the most important bit of the air fryer tortilla chips recipe – serving. Where there are tortilla chips, there are a hundred ways to serve them.
- You can snack on them as-is.
- Or use them to shovel dips like this 3-ingredient gochujang mayo, creamy whipped feta, tzatziki, cashew ricotta cheese, and creamy avocado dip in your mouth.
- Turn them into loaded air fryer nacho chips. Use tortilla chips instead of potatoes!
FAQs
Each batch took 4 to 5 minutes for me. It can take less or more for you.
Please remember they do become crisper as they cool.
If they’re too soft in the center, give them another 1 minute to 30 seconds in the air fryer. Just be careful not to burn them.
Making tortilla chips in an air fryer is so much faster, but they can be made without an air fryer too.
Spread them in a single, even layer on a tray and bake for about 10 minutes at 200 °C. You will need to flip them once during that time.
