2-ingredient chocolate pudding is a classic dessert you can enjoy in endless ways. The easy two-ingredient dessert is almost as simple as instant pudding but much tastier.
You know when you’re really craving chocolate? And not just a bar or piece. But a rich, delicious, thick chocolatey dessert? That’s when I make this 2-ingredient chocolate pudding, or my second favorite—chocolate pudding with cashews and chia.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
The texture is so soft, it feels like a cloud of rich dark chocolate.
The pudding melts in your mouth like chocolate silk.
The recipe is super low on effort.
Recipe Ingredients
Milk: Full-fat coconut milk is the best choice for this pudding recipe. It’s rich and creamy. But regular full-fat milk or even half-and-half works like a charm.
Chocolate: I feel the darker the chocolate, the better the pudding. The dessert is more decadent when the cocoa content of your chocolate is higher. If 70% is too dark for you, try 55% or less.

2-Ingredient Chocolate Pudding Variations
Chocolate: I tried the two-ingredient dessert with dairy-free, 70% dark chocolate. And it came out just perfect. It’s up to you what kind of chocolate you want to use. Regular dark chocolate will be great. Milk or white chocolate is fantastic too, as long as you use good quality couverture chocolate.
Cinnamon is optional. Keep it simple and serve the chocolate pudding as is. Or you can stir in a spoonful of coffee or Cointreau. A dash of Bourbon or rum would be wonderful here.
Love to experiment? Try chili powder chocolate pudding. Trust me, the heat of chilies balances the rich sweetness of chocolate wonderfully. The taste is out of this world.
Garnish: You can skip the chocolate shavings and cocoa powder and get creative with the toppings. Try goji berries and coconut cream as I do for my chocolate chia pudding for breakfast.

Pro Tips
- After you add the chocolate, constantly stir the mixture.
