I love making smoothies! Most summer mornings, I’ll have a pineapple strawberry smoothie or a mulberry mango smoothie. They’re easy. They’re quick. And they fill you up so you’re ready to jump into the day.

This mango matcha smoothie recipe fits the bill. Mango and matcha go together really well! The refreshing, earthy taste of matcha mixes with sweet, juicy mango and creamy avocado to make one hell of a smoothie. It doesn't get better than this!

Why You’ll Love The Recipe

This matcha mango smoothie is creamy, cool, and naturally sweet. Just 4 ingredients and no fuss!

The mango brings tropical vibes, the matcha gives you a gentle energy boost, and the avocado makes it silky smooth.

You’ll love how refreshing mango matcha is on warm mornings. Or anytime you need a pick-me-up that feels like a treat!

It's also great for meal prep! Just chop up the fruits, portion them out, and pack them in freezer-safe containers or Ziplock bags. Blend into a smoothie whenever you want!

Matcha Mango Smoothie Ingredients

Ingredients for making mango matcha smoothie.

Mango: Fresh mangoes give the best taste and work as a nice thickener. Use any leftover mango to make mango coconut popsicles to beat the heat. Or try another mango matcha drink.

Matcha: Earthy and smooth, it balances the sweetness of mango. Some people find the taste slightly bitter. But trust me, it's fabulous here! Use a ceremonial grade matcha for the best flavor and try it in these recipes- matcha peppermint cups or matcha chia pudding.

Avocado makes the matcha and mango smoothie ultra creamy and luscious without the need to add dairy. It also makes the smoothie more hearty.

Coconut water: As this smoothie gets its creaminess from avocado and mango, I used coconut water as the liquid. Feel free to use almond milk, cashew milk, oat milk, or regular cow's milk instead.

Variations

Fruit: Smoothies are some of the most flexible recipes. So feel free to swap in your favorite fruit. Strawberries, raspberries, pineapple, or even peaches!

Yogurt is a great addition if you want to make your smoothie even creamier!

Sweetener: Honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup—all work wonderfully in mango matcha smoothie. How much sweetener you’ll need depends on how sweet the mangoes are. Mine were just sweet enough, and I don’t like my smoothies too sweet. So, I didn’t feel the need to add any sugar.

Pro Tips

  • I prefer my smoothies to be less sweet, so I don't usually add any sweetener. Please add any sweetener of your choice if you prefer a sweeter taste.
  • The quantity of sweetener you add will depend on how sweet your mango and coconut water are.
  • Use frozen mango if fresh ones aren't available. Frozen fruits make smoothies even more creamy and thick!
  • Please use quality matcha powder. I prefer using ceremonial-grade matcha.
  • While this mango and matcha smoothie can be refrigerated for up to 1 day, it's best to consume it immediately for the best taste!

Like all smoothies, this mango matcha smoothie also tastes best when consumed immediately. However, you can store it for up to 1 day in the refrigerator.

What fruit mixes well with matcha?

Matcha pairs with tons of fruits and flavors. All kinds of berries, banana, citrus, and even peaches work so well with matcha. I recommend starting with a strawberry matcha latte or pistachio matcha popsicles.
